Lost and Found
I love having lunch with people. I especially love it when it's someone I get to talk ministry talk with. This was a good day. I had just had lunch with a young man from our church with gifts and a heart to help with graphic design. It was a fun lunch.I jumped back in my car, got a hundred yards from the on ramp that would take me back home and reached for the compartment where I keep my sunglasses. Gone. Just passed the point of no return, I'm on to the freeway.Let's see, I wore them on the drive to lunch...then...I couldn't remember. I must have worn them into the restaurant. I probably set them on the table. By the time I take another exit, get turned around and get back they will probably be gone. I let out a groan of frustration. The whole way home I stewed about it.Before reaching home, I stopped at the store to get a couple things. As I walked toward the door, I went to swipe a bug off my shoulder and...well...the picture says it.Yeah, in my pocket. Guess I didn't look very hard.Jeremiah was a prophet in a time when the people lived in exile. Their unfaithfulness and forgetfulness toward God had cost them dearly. They were a people who went through the motions of faith, but missed the Father.God sends this word through Jeremiah:
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I never want to miss out on seeing Jesus because I only look with half attention. I want my eyes open and my heart tuned to look deeply as I get up, as I go through my day, and as I lay down. He's worth the pursuit.By His Grace, For His Glory,Shaun
